Wa-Ta-Tanka
Although the terms may be different, when one speaks of
GOD, Jehova, or he Great Spirit, one speaks of the same
entity. When the different clans and tribes of the
Native American spoke of "The Great Spirit"
(Wa-Ta-Tanka), they were refering to an all
encompassing entity we think of as God.
The painting depicts a warrior raising his coup stick
and lance in homage to "The Great Spirit" image in the
clouds. Considered a good omen, all things might be
possible with prayers to "Wa-Ta-Tanka."
